Event Details

Andre Collins Celebrity Charity Basketball Game: Dre Day 3 was created to bring awareness to issues in our community including gang and gun violence, bullying and opioid abuse. Families who have lost loved ones to these issues will be honored at the event.

The event is back for its third year on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Former participants include NBA Champion Quinn Cook of the Golden State Warriors, former Washington Redskin Josh Morgan, former Houston Texan and local standout athlete Ben Tate, former Memphis Grizzly Donte Green, former San Antonio Spur Jamar Smith, former Maryland Terrapins Byron Mouton, Damonte Dodd and Travis Garrison, local former collegiate and professional basketball players Andre Collins, Craig Winder and Eddie Miller, recording artist YSB Skola, and local community leaders.

I just wanted to tell you how nice everything was last Saturday for Megan and Brian’s reception. So many guests mentioned how delicious the food was, especially the crab cakes (please tell Chef Larry!). I have to tell you that the Civic Center staff was wonderful! Many guests commented how friendly and helpful they were! One staff person even brought out two bottles of cold water for Megan and Brian when they left to go on their honeymoon! That was so kind and unexpected! (They had a 1 ½ hour drive.) I even received a card in the mail yesterday from my Aunt and Uncle saying how nice the reception was and how friendly and helpful the Civic Center staff was!
