Restoration Plan
In order to maintain its position within a very competitive market as the place of choice to hold concerts, family shows, sporting events and community receptions, the Wicomico Civic Center must undergo wide-ranging renovations. Though many of its banquet and meeting facilities have been recently updated, there are several other areas that are in need of attention.
A comprehensive restoration plan has been completed and arrangements have been made to obtain necessary funding. Initiatives that have been approved by the State of Maryland and Wicomico County Council include a 1% increase in hotel room tax, a 5% fee assessed to cost of admission tickets and a 10% restoration fee assessed on the building rental for trade shows, meetings and receptions.
