Lipizzaner Stallions Dance into the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center
The
"World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions"
is bringing the 40th Anniversary edition of "Dancing with Horses" to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13. Both shows begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online, in person at the Civic Center Box Office or by phone at 410-548-4911. Ticket prices range from $17.50 to $26.50 plus fees. Group and senior discounts are available.
The “World Famous” Lipizzaner Stallions
includes many of the traditional movements and exercises presented at the world-renowned Spanish Riding School of Vienna. While maintaining a classical presentation of the Lipizzaner, also featured is the forefather of the Lipizzaner – the Spanish Andalusian. Other exciting departures from tradition include a rousing number set to the big band music of the swing era.
Many of the horses and riders who appear in this 40th Anniversary edition of “Dancing With Horses” were hand-picked by producer Gary Lashinsky to perform in this family oriented arena attraction. Over the years, more than twenty-five million people throughout North and South America, The United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Hawaii have seen this internationally acclaimed spectacle.
The graceful dance of the Lipizzaner Stallions is a breathtaking ballet over 400 years in the making. A highlight of the performance is their spectacular leaps and maneuvers known as the “Airs Above the Ground” which were born in the fury of the battlefield. Now these stunning maneuvers are preserved as an equestrian work of art that you can witness from the safety of your seat!
The Lipizzan is a rare and unique breed; its history and culture is known worldwide. The Walt Disney movie The Miracle of the White Stallions, depicting General George S. Patton saving them at the end of World War II from certain extinction, created an even greater worldwide interest in the Lipizzaner breed. Had it not been for Patton, there would be no Lipizzans today.
Harkening back to a time when the horse was a symbol of grace and majesty, The “World Famous” Lipizzaner Stallions are a fun and entertaining family experience. One does not need to be a horse lover to enjoy the skill and beauty of The Dancing White Stallions".

Tickets for Brand-New, Live Stage Production in Salisbury, MD on Sale Thursday, October 8th, 2009
Salisbury, MD — October 8th, 2009 —Disney Live! Rockin’ Road Show, Feld Entertainment’s newest live stage production starring Mickey Mouse in a fun-filled road trip and talent search adventure, is coming to Salisbury, MD in November! Spotlighting favorite Disney characters such as the ever-lovable Tigger; Cinderella and her comical stepsisters; and for the first time in Disney Live! history, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and friends from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story; Disney Live! Rockin’ Road Show unfolds through an original, laugh-out-loud storyline that whisks audiences away on a wacky journey without ever leaving their hometown. Tickets for performances at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center are on sale now!
Produced by Kenneth Feld and Alana Feld, the show revolves around a one-of-a-kind, unpredictable road trip as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald spontaneously attempt to round up amazing acts for their talent show. Thanks to Mickey’s fantastical bus, they are able to soar over mountains and plunge underwater to complete their search for performers. Through the incorporation of a giant video screen and multiple scenic projection panels, audiences are able to enjoy a truly visual experience as the scenic backdrop takes them through country hillsides, a cactus-filled desert, a royal village and other picturesque locales.
“What really sets Disney Live! Rockin’ Road Show apart is that it incorporates classic Disney characters into a set of silly ‘cartoon rules’ where anything can happen and fun knows no boundaries,” says Producer Kenneth Feld. “Families get to create lasting memories as they embark on a thrilling, high-energy, theatrical excursion with their favorite Disney friends, right in their hometown.”
Disney Live! Rockin’ Road Show spotlights beloved characters performing a variety of talents as they sing and dance to a mix of hip Disney tunes. Rain a Tribute to the Beatles
|
From Ed Sullivan to Abbey Road-Rain A Tribute to the Beatles
Debuts at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center
The award-winning Beatles concert, RAIN – A Tribute To The Beatles, makes its debut at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center for one show only, on November 22, 2009. In a show the Denver Post calls “the next best thing to seeing The Beatles,” RAIN boasts a repertoire of nearly 200 Beatlemaniac favorites, ranging from such beloved songs as “Yesterday” and “Hey Jude” to classic hits including “Revolution” and “Come Together.”
RAIN
covers the Fab Four from
their very first Ed Sullivan Show appearance through the Abbey Road album,
through the psychedelic late 60sand their long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. RAIN is a multi-media, multi-dimensional experience...a fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials from the 1960s lights up video screens and live cameras zoom in for close-ups.
For the four longtime band members – Joey Curatolo (Paul McCartney), Joe Bithorn (George Harrison), Ralph Castelli (Ringo Starr) and Steve Landes (John Lennon), with a little help from their friend Mark Lewis (keyboards, percussion) – the music is first and foremost. For more than two decades, RAIN has distinguished itself by focusing on details, always being faithful to The Beatles with the ultimate goal of delivering a perfect note-for-note performance. All the music is performed live, with no pre-recorded tapes or sequences.
Like The Beatles, the onstage members of RAIN are not only supreme musicians, but electrifying performers in their own right.
Tickets are on sale now and begin at $36.50 plus fees. Charge by phone at 410-548-4911, visit www.WicomicoCivicCenter.org or the Civic Center Box Office at 500 Glen Avenue in Salisbury, MD .
